Big ‘I’ Q&A covers changes to Fair Labor Standards Act
Though IIABA is party to a lawsuit challenging the Department of Labor’s pending overtime rule and pending legislation could delay the law’s implementation, agencies are well advised to take steps to comply with the rule (and other labor laws) before it is scheduled to take effect December 1 of this year. Download IIABA’s DOL Overtime Rule FAQ, and if you still have questions, ask them in the Community.
Still have questions about the DOL overtime rule?
Ask them in FAIA’s Community Forum! FAIA General Counsel Laura Pearce regularly fields questions about the rule change, with topics ranging from how to handle salary plus commission employees, whether or not networking events count as hours worked, and if the rule applies to “outside sales” people. Read the answers, respond, or start your own thread.

Top 10 reasons to submit an E&O claim
Latest claims data from Hurricane Matthew shows more than 90,000 claims were filed as of October 20. Though some agents may be tempted not to report small claims, especially if they fall within the deductible, agents should do just as they advise their customers: report and submit all claims. Here’s why.
