For his faithful and selfless service to FAIA and its members,
the insurance industry, and his community, Ted R. Ostrander, Jr., AAI, CIC, has
been honored with FAIA’s Mitchell Stallings Memorial Award.
The award—FAIA’s greatest honor—was presented June 17 during the
general session of FAIA’s 112th Anniversary Convention &
Education Symposium in Orlando. Ted is chairman of the board of LassiterWare.
Ted has served in many leadership roles at FAIA, including
chairman in 1993. He served as president of the Independent Insurance Agents of
Lake County and on numerous FAIA councils and committees. Beginning Sept. 1,
Ted will chair FAIA’s Pay It Forward Task Force.
Ted has dutifully served his community, including as president
of the Leesburg Area Chamber of Commerce, and Finance chairman to the Lake District
Central Florida Council. He has served as chairman of the Lake and Sumter Boys and
Girls Clubs, and the Central Florida Healthcare Development Corp. He also served
on the Leesburg Regional Medical Center Board for 12 years, including as chairman.
He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Central Florida District
Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Ted received his Bachelor of Science in Risk Management and Insurance
from the Florida State University College of Business, where he remains
actively involved in developing and growing the program. His most recent contribution
created the Ostrander Family Florida Catastrophic Storm Risk Management Center Suite in Legacy Hall.
