The Florida Department of Financial
Services (DFS), which is formerly the Department of Insurance, has
launched their web site allowing licensees to view their continuing
education transcript online. New users must register with the site. To
view your transcript follow these simple steps:
-
Visit the DFS web site at
www.fldfs.com
-
From the main page click on "Agent
Education Database" which is located in the "Links" box.
-
First time visitors must click on the
-
When prompted, enter your social
security number and date of birth.
-
You'll be asked to create a username
and password, which will be used to access the system on future
visits. (Returning users need not register each time – simply visit
the "Agent
Education Database" page and enter the username and password to
gain access.)
-
Once in the system click on
"Transcript" and then from the pull down menu select "CE Transcript."
A record of classes attended will appear on the screen.
-
To check to see if you are in
compliance click on "Compliance" and then "Compliance Evaluation."
The next screen shows the type license(s) held, days remaining in the
compliance period, the period cutoff date, and whether or not the
licensee is in compliance.
Note that one column on the
transcript is titled "Posted." The letters "Y" or "N" will appear in
that column. When a provider such as FAIA uploads data to the DFS that
column will initially indicate "N." Once the DFS processes the data the
column will change to "Y" so licensees should not be alarmed in a "N"
appears for 30-60 days after attending classes.
If a licensee has taken a course
more than 90 days in the past and that course is not reflected on the
transcript they should contact the school provider to make certain the
data was uploaded to the DFS.
For information concerning the most
common CE questions (Such as how many hours are required, the carryover
requirement, and the new two-hour "unauthorized entity class) check
FAIA's web page document titled "Continuing
Education Q&A."
