started his career in 1966 in Pensacola with Gulf Life Insurance
Company. In 1973 he moved to Havana, Florida and spent 10 years
building a very successful agency with Florida Farm Bureau. In 1983,
he become part owner of Slappy Insurance Agency , one of
the oldest Independent agencies in Florida, and also became a
member of FAIA, serving on the Legislative Committee until
February 1996.
In
1996 Fred became a company representative in north Florida with
Stirling Cooke Insurance Services, and in August 1998 came to
FAIA. He has been very active in his church and Kiwanis
International, serving as the 1993 - 94 Lt Governor of the Northern
District of Florida Kiwanis. One of Fred's proudest
accomplishments in Kiwanis was his leadership in an
international effort that brought about the release of a Cuban
political prisoner who was reunited with his family after more
