Kathy GholstonBack To About FAIA Home Kathy began her insurance career in 1968 assisting with claims payments and general office work. She left Florida in 1969 for Alaska and worked for a federal credit union securing homeowner policies for home loans.She then came back to Florida in 1970 and spent the next 12 yrs working for various independent insurance agencies as well as for agents who were direct writers for State Farm and Nationwide. During these years she did everything from selling, servicing, underwriting, and claims, to paying the agency's bills. She self-studied and received her 2-20 in 1978. (She also holds her life/health/variable annuities and surplus lines licenses.) In 1982 Aetna Life & Casualty approached her to become a field representative for them for the north Florida area. In 1984 she came to work for FAIA where she has spent the last 16 years working in the insurance department overseeing the various programs and handling the personnel issues as Director of Operations.
