Each year, the chair of FAIA’s Board of Directors helps to select the theme for our annual Convention. Reflecting on the numerous changes he’s seen throughout his decades-long insurance career, Chair Bob Rollins shares his thoughts on his pick for this year’s theme in a message to members.

Climbing to New Heights: A Message from Your Chair

When I began my insurance career in 1970, the insurance industry had a different regulatory landscape, technology limitations, and a less consolidated industry compared to today. Advances in technology, changes in regulation, and shifts in consumer behavior have significantly transformed the industry since then. One of the things that has remained constant is the continued dedication and service of our Association and an annual Convention that brings us together to network, share knowledge, learn from the industry’s best instructors, gain access to valuable resources, and more.

Plans are well underway for FAIA’s 120th Anniversary Convention, and I’m proud to announce the theme of this year’s Convention, “Climbing to New Heights.” As we take this journey through the world of insurance, this year’s theme will encourage us to push beyond our comfort zone and challenge us to reach our full potential and achieve extraordinary success. If this industry has taught us anything, it’s the importance of resilience and continuous learning in the pursuit of climbing to new heights.

I am honored to serve as your Chair for 2023 – 2024 and look forward to embarking on this insurance journey with you. I look forward to seeing you at our 120th Convention in June.
